Adelaide Cinemas

For the movie buffs out there, Adelaide has plenty of cinemas to feed your buttered popcorn addiction and fill a couple of hours with pure cinematic escapism.

Mercury Cinema

Moonlight Cinema

For a totally different and totally cool cinema experience check out what’s showing at the Moonlight Cinema. Located at Botanic Park in Hackney Road, Adelaide you can enjoy new release movies as well as retro flicks and classics under the stars. Tickets for the screenings are affordable and you can bring along your own picnic blankets or hire them there. Dinner and drinks are available throughout the movie or you can BYO.

Palace Nova – Rundle Street

Located smack bang in the Adelaide CBD on Rundle Street, this cinema strikes the fine balance of showing both Hollywood big budget movies and a good range of indie movies too. It is a very popular alternative to the big cinema multiplexes.

Windsor Theatre – Lockleys

This quaint vintage cinema offers two new releases for the bargain basement price of only $8. A fun added feature of the cinema is the corridor of old movie posters with such Hollywood classics as Gone with the Wind and Hello Dolly.

Wallis Cinemas

Wallis Cinemas have locations all over Adelaide and South Australia and is proud to be a family owned business that has been operating cinemas and drive ins since 1956. They offer the usual blockbusters and feature films and still have one drive in operating – the Mainline Drive In.

Multiplex Cinemas

There are various multiplex cinemas through cinema giants such as Hoyts and Greater Union throughout the city. Many of them are attached to shopping centres such as the Marion Greater Union, which is attached to the Westfield Shopping Centre. These cinemas often have gold class where you can enjoy your movie from the comfort of a recliner with a glass of champagne by your side.
