The Central Market has been established for 140 years and now has over 100 stalls. It is South Australia’s most visited tourist attraction, and is the epicentre of Adelaide’s multicultural cuisine and fresh produce.
With the markets laid out in lanes and broadways, its predominate trading is in fruit, vegetables, small goods, and cafe food. It sells an amazing array of market goods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables, gourmet food and local delicacies, cheeses, bread, cakes, meat, seafood, olive oils, sauces, and deliciously fancy exotic spices.
The Adelaide Central Market is one of the most popular markets in the area, attracting bargain hunters from all over Adelaide and beyond. Much of the food is discounted further after lunch on Saturday and also on Tuesday afternoon, when Central Market's unsold produce is disposed of.

The Central Market is right in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD in Victoria Square, Gouger St
The City to Bay tram stops right at the door. Any city bound public transport will drop you off in the vicinity of the Market with a short walk. There is also the free Adelaide Connector bus which circulates through the city heart. You can jump on and off in a number of locations, one of which is the Market.

Over 1 000 parking spaces available in the Central Market U Park located directly above the Market and accessible from both Gouger and Grote Streets.
Another car park, U Park on Grote is located across the road from the Market on Grote Street and has a further 550 parking spaces if the larger one is full. There are also other underground car parks within walking distance. Very limited on street parking is available in the Market precinct.
